2 Awesome Peanut Butter Dog Treats Recipes

!±8± 2 Awesome Peanut Butter Dog Treats Recipes

Most people like peanut butter and use it in many recipes. Crackers, cakes, brownies, pretzels are just a few examples of foods using this ingredient. What's more amazing is that dogs enjoy it, too. I've never heard of a dog that is not fond of peanut butter dog treats or biscuits.

Luckily, peanut butter is known for a wide range of nutrients including vitamins B and E, magnesium, fiber and protein. As you probably know already, commercial dog treats are full of preservatives, colorings and flavorings. I find them rather dangerous for my dog's health and I usually prepare his treats in my own kitchen. I use organic peanut butter (Adams, usually, or Jif). In the next paragraphs I'll be presenting two of my dog treats recipes.

The first one is called Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits. For it you'll need:

1/2 cup of water 1/2 cup oil (olive oil) 2 eggs 3 tablespoons peanut butter 2 tablespoons vanilla 2 cups flour 1/2 cup oats

You should start by blending the wet ingredients together. Whisk dry ingredients together and mix into wet mixture to form a ball of dough. Roll out and shape. Put onto a non-stick cookie tray or lightly greased one. Cook 20 minutes at 400 F. Turn off oven and allow the biscuits to cool in oven until they get crispy and hard. Store the biscuits in an airtight container.

The second one is very much enjoyed by my dog. I call it simply Dog Treats. You'll need:

1 cup whole wheat flour 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal 2 tablespoons oats 1 egg 1 tablespoons fish oil or olive oil 1/4 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup beef or chicken broth

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, whisk the wet ingredients together. Stir in the flour, flaxseed meal and oats. Mix all the ingredients until you get smooth dough. Dust your work surface and your pin with a bit of flour. Roll out the biscuit dough (to about ¼ inches thick) and with a cookie cutter cut into a dog bone shape or small rounds. Re-roll any scraps. Bake, 10-12 minutes, and let the treats cool completely. Store the treats into an airtight container.

My dog loves both the biscuits and the treats. However, please not that some dogs might be allergic to peanuts, so, before trying these recipes at home, please make sure that your dog is not allergic. Also, avoid feeding him too many treats and pay attention to his reactions.
